About Brandon:

Brandon Pugh is a proud resident of Moorestown and graduate of Moorestown High School. He was first elected in November 2012 to the Moorestown Board of Education to serve a three year term (2013-2016), and was reelected in 2015 (2016-2019). Brandon currently serves as the Vice President of the Board. Brandon serves as the Chair of the Policy & Governance Committee, and a member of Communication & Development Committee. Brandon represents the Moorestown Board of Education to the Burlington County School Boards Association (BCSBA) and to the New Jersey School Boards Association. He holds numerous educational leadership positions at the county and state level, including serving as the Past-President of the Burlington County School Boards Association and the Vice President for Legislation/Resolutions of the New Jersey School Boards Association.

Brandon has always been very involved in education, the schools, the township, and the state. Brandon began his involvement working as a volunteer in the township for various organizations. Presently, in town he serves as both a volunteer and paid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and is a HazMat/CBRNE Specialist. Brandon’s involvement in education began in 2007, when he taught as an English teacher in Buenos Aries, Argentina and developed curriculum.

Presently, Brandon is the President and CEO of American Consulting and Training LLC (ACT). ACT provides homeland security and public safety training and consulting to various entities, including on emergency preparedness, threat mitigation, continuity of operations, energetic materials, incident management, and policy issues. (Click Here). Brandon maintains instructor affiliations with two state entities and three training centers through the US Department of Homeland Security. He is a is a published author and regularly speaks on homeland security threats and emergency preparedness.

Previously, Brandon worked in the NJ Governor’s Office of Volunteerism as a coordinator. Brandon worked on youth and collegiate service for the office, allowing him to coordinate with many schools in New Jersey, including establishing a relationship with every college. Brandon also worked on special initiatives for the office, including conducting emergency preparedness and response, and planning for large scale events, including a Super Bowl and Iron Man Championship. Brandon currently serves on the New Jersey Governor’s Advisory Council on Volunteerism as an appointed member.

Brandon is a graduate of The College of New Jersey with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science (Honors Program), and is a Juris Doctor Candidate at Rutgers Law. Brandon is a former summer law clerk with the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, and he currently is a Staff Editor on the Journal of Law and Cyber Warfare (JLCW). Brandon has professional training from a variety of organizations including, New Mexico Tech University, Leiden University in The Hague, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the New Jersey School Board Association, among others.  He is one of less than three hundred professionals in the country to hold Homeland Security's highest discipline specific designation, the Master Continuity Practitioner (MCP). 

Brandon is honored to have received many awards including, being recognized by President Obama (Presidential Call to Service Award), Governor Christie, Congressman Runyan, and Congressman MacArthur, along with receiving the National Jimmy Medal, the Moorestown Township Outstanding Citizenship Award, and FEMA's Professional Development Citation.

Outside of his professional interests, Brandon is a pilot, a master scuba diver, and a world traveler.
