For a full listing of the Board's committees/members on the MTPS Website Click Here, or refer to the outline below.

USMC Educators Workshop 2014

posted Apr 26, 2014, 11:39 AM by Brandon Pugh   [ updated Apr 26, 2014, 2:13 PM ]

From 4/22 to 4/25/14, I had an incredible opportunity to be a part of the 2014 Educators Workshop, sponsored by the United States Marine Corps. The program offered me the opportunity to travel to Marine Recruit Training Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, along with about 40 educators from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The purpose of the trip was to expose educators to various components of Marine Corps Boot Camp, and to provide information on opportunities available for students in the Marine Corps. The intent was not to make educators "recruiters," but rather to enable teachers to have a better sense of what the Marine Corps entails, and to support students who may have an interest in military service. The trip consisted of various activities, including time at the shooting range, lunch with recruits, seminars, front row seats to graduation, dinner with a three star general, and plenty of time with drill instructors, among many other activities. I highly encourage educators to consider attending this trip in the future. Sgt. Nasso or Captain Smith with Marine Recruiting Station New Jersey can provide more information.

With Marine Drill Instructor Sgt. Darosa.
